Q: Is the sealant material harmful?

A: The sealant material is a vinyl polymer using the same base material as used in chewing gum and is UL tested and approved.

Q: Will the sealant trap extra dust in my ductwork?

A: As the sealant material will not deposit on the inside of your duct work there is no risk of extra dust being trapped inside your ductwork by sticking to it.

Q: Does the sealant leave an odor?

A: Though the sealant has a distinct odor in its atomized state there will be no lasting odor in your home. The material in its solid state does not give off a gas over time so once the atomized sealant has been removed from the air there will no longer be an odor from it.

Q: Do the ducts have to be cleaned before they are sealed?

A: More than likely your ductwork will not need to be cleaned before it is sealed. The sealant material only adheres where it changes velocity and since the gaps and holes in your ductwork should be free from dust and other material there should be no need to clean the ductwork before sealing it.

Q: Is the sealant material harmful?

A: The sealant material is a vinyl polymer using the same base material as used in chewing gum and is UL tested and approved.

Q: Is the sealing guaranteed?

A: Aeroseal provides a 10-year warranty on the seals created with our process. the warranty is for on-site seal failures and does not cover additional damage (e.g. an electrician that steps on a duct while running wiring), wear or tear (i.e. the shelf life of a plastic duct is passed, rodents eat into a duct, or a duct rusts out), and subsequent replacement of failed ducting. Overall, in the 9000 plus seals done to date, Aeroseal has yet to receive any warranty claims.

Q: How long will the sealing last?

A: The sealing material has been found in rigorous testing to last over 10 years without failure.

Q: Does the sealant turn brittle?

A: The vinyl sealing material remains rubbery, never cracking.
